Sketching lessons platform

Personal project: Creating online platform to publish and sell my own sketching tutorials.

Project background
I’m a big fan of sketching and experimenting with new materials! The first time I tried drawing with markers, I fell in love immediately and after years of practice I decided to share my passion with others. I wanted to create my own online platform to publish and sell sketch lessons and also provide feedback to my students.

My role
It was a team of two working on this project, a software engineer and myself. I designed this platform and built its fronted part with HTML/CSS, and a little bit of JS.
Logging in
Students and teachers could log in with their Facebook and Google accounts. After logging in, students got access to their Classroom with all the lessons they’d bought. The teacher had access to the admin system to manage the lessons, as well as Classroom access to see and comment on their students’ work.
Modular structure
Each tutorial had a landing page with a modular structure that could easily fit any other tutorial. All tutorials could be simply set up by a teacher in their admin system.
Checkout
We made the checkout page able to support promo codes. These could be set up by a teacher in their admin system and the payment process was powered by Stripe.

Classroom
After buying a course, students could access it in their personal Classroom. There’d be assignments with each lesson that a teacher could review later.
Behind the scenes
Creating lessons wasn't easy. It required a special set up and loads of time for post-editing, but it was so rewarding to hear happy feedback from students who took the course!
